How Your Work is Assessed
Once you have submitted your assignment, your tutor has up to 10 working days to mark and return the work to you. You will receive an email notification when your work has been marked.
Only after you have passed your current unit submission will the next unit of your course become available.
This is because:
- We want you to work through the units in order, building upon and applying your knowledge as you go, progressing from the simple to the more complex concepts.
- It prevents the learner making repeated similar errors throughout the course and having to carry out complete rewrites of units based on your feedback.

While waiting for your work to be marked, you can start reading the underpinning knowledge and researching around the topics
If your work has been referred, you should action all the guidance detailed in the feedback provided by your tutor (it may help to read these common reasons why learner work is referred).
To aid your progression through the course, taking each point of your feedback into account will minimise referrals, and therefore delays, while your tutor re-marks your work.
Tutor marking time may increase slightly during extremely busy periods or if they are on leave
